What we do

What we do

The DLF was founded in 2007 after the largest douc population ever found was discovered by the DLF at Son Tra Nature Reserve near Danang, Vietnam. The mission of the Douc Langur Foundation is to help ensure the conservation and the protection of Douc Langurs throughout their range in Vietnam.

DIRECT PROTECTION

We employ local people to provide direct protection of critically endangered douc populations. These local people remove wire traps and snares set on the ground and in the trees.

SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH

Since 2007, the DLF has supported a professional staff of Vietnamese biologists and botanists who collect field observations on the douc diet, behavior and ecology all year.

EDUCATION

DLF is conducting biodiversity classes which concentrate on the doucs and the Son Tra Nature Preserve and Chu Mom Rey National Park. Students are intensely interested in the doucs and we have taken the class to the forest several times.
